Shanghai Me

Shanghai Me

Shanghai Me blends the nostalgic glamour of 1930s Shanghai with a playful contemporary edge, delivering elevated Pan-Asian cuisine within an opulent Art Deco interior. Located on the top floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane, the restaurant enjoys expansive views across London’s skyline and its most iconic landmarks, setting the tone for a dining experience centred on atmosphere, connection and celebration.

The lighting design was conceived to support this sense of occasion without competing with the defining feature of the space: the views. The brief called for a relaxed, refined lighting scheme that would enhance the richness of the interiors, allowing the city beyond the glass to take centre stage from day through to night. Light levels, colour temperature and layering were carefully considered to create warmth and depth, while maintaining visual comfort and clarity across the dining floor.

The resulting scheme delivers a sophisticated, atmospheric environment that complements the Art Deco aesthetic and transitions effortlessly from daylight to evening service. Subtle control and intuitive operation ensure the lighting remains operator-friendly, supporting the rhythm of the restaurant without drawing attention to itself. The outcome is a calm, elegant and welcoming space where lighting quietly enhances the experience, framing both the interior and the remarkable London skyline beyond.
